My name is David Lintvedt, I teach Cat Class (grades 7 & 8) assisted by Dawn Harris. I am a single father with a daughter who is now a young adult. I work in corporate Customer Service, but what I really enjoy doing is writing, cycling, hiking, spending time with my significant other and with my daughter, and volunteering here at St. Mark’s. I have a Master of Divinity Degree from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and have had several articles on worship and life published in The Lutheran on-line newsletter, and have an essay included in the collection “This I Believe On Fatherhood”. I joined St. Mark’s in 1996 and have taught Cat Class, and grades 3 through 6 as well as some Adult Education classes during my time at part of the congregation. I have also served on Church Council for many years, and have served as lay-reader, and occasional supply-pastor while with St. Mark’s. I enjoy working with the Christian Education Ministry here at St. Mark’s, and feel that I have learned as much from my students as they have from me. Over the years I have come to believe that Christian Education is truly a family ministry, which takes place both in the classroom and at home. The Confirmation Class meets every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. Youth in seventh and eighth grades are included in the class. We offer an educational, fun, and comprehensive Confirmation Program. This provides for a well-rounded experience for the youth of St. Mark’s. Our program consists of three parts (instruction, family/worship, and service/fellowship) which work together to provide a comprehensive, relevant Confirmation Education. The curriculum we use is from Augsburg Fortress and the themes are central to our beliefs as Lutherans.
